She won 1st place in the Black Sable class in the Specialty
Story of CocoaEvery Sunday Kerry and I used to have pet store duty, that was to check to make sure that 3 pets stores had food and water for the ferrets and had clean cages.
One Sunday I went into a pet store called: Critters, Kerry waited in the car for he knew I would create a scene if the ferrets were not taken care of properly. I saw three ferrets in a cage next to the snakes, Well I asked to hold the 2- dark ferrets. Finally he came into the store to see what was taking me so long, I said "I need you to go to Yvonne's (Sister in-laws) house and get me a pet carrier." He said "right now?" I said "yeap, I want to get the female dark ferret." so he went to get the carrier and off we went home with Cocoa.
I held her for 30 minites or so until he came back with the carrier,

It is with much sadness that I have to say Our little Beautiful Black sable girl Cocoa passed away today at 5:15pm. Cocoa was a very special little girl who was loved very much by her Mommy Ada and Her Daddy Kerry. She will be missed by her cage mate Stanley most of all.
Cocoa was always a fighter and fought a long and hard to live . She was diagnosed with cancer and cardimyopathy in 1999, she was put on meds , in 2000 she wasn't doing well So I took her back to the vet and her vet said that she has Pulled out all the cards out of the hat that she has for Cocoa. Cocoa refused to give up and lived three more years. Goes to show you some ferrets have the will power to continue on and on !!
I always did say that I thought Cocoa was part cat and had nine lives like Cat.
Cocoa we all love you and will miss you!! You will live forever in our hearts. Cocoa will join by her sibling: Chester, Buddy Luv, Ginger and Minnie
